Recording the E.P has started…
Morning all, just to let you know that work on our new E.P is well underway… The songs have been written, rehearsed and demo’d and we are now well into recording them. The first track ‘Say Hello To Charlie’ is now finished and available to listen to online.

We recorded the first track at A Bomb Studios on Sunday and to say the session was a mess would be the understatement of the century. Davo turned up first hanging out of his arse after a night in Stafford, followed swiftly by BIG TOM in a little yellow Nisan Micra…. WTF?! Douggie spent most of the time shitting himself in every corner of the room…. Ben turned up an hour late without his drum kit!

“The Vouch’s first EP session(Charlie) has come out rather splendid, considering it was recorded on a betamax player.
All the elements are there, catchy melodies and hooks, with a strong rhythm section.
I think recording the drummer blind folded was a stroke of productive genius on my behalf, but what do I know.
In between naked vocals, Davos addiction to Wurlitzer piano’s and the “three take wonder” brothers, the overall product is a steamer… in a good way.
To cut a long story short, I hate the vouch. I hate how they write catchy songs and dress so pretty.

So yes, I recorded the vocals for ‘Say Hello To Charlie’ with my cock out, and if you solo the vocal track…. You can hear it slapping around as I jump! Thanks to Karl and Ed at ABomb Studios for putting up with our shit, literally!!!
We are back in the studio very soon and we will bring you photos and videos from the session. It is great to be doing this again!

Well it appears that some people actually read this, and I’m under pressure to keep updating it. I don’t usually respond very well to peer pressure, but i felt like writing a blog post.
We have got back into practice the last two weeks and it’s been pretty productive. We have a gig this Saturday at The Uxbridge in Hednesford and I’d be lying if I said i wasn’t itching to get at it. I keep getting messages in my facebook inbox about another band playing this weekend, Latina Heat. Get some Vauxhall Merchandise in your life!

I Proper Wanna See Nowhere Boy! For FUCK SAKE! – 12th January
How you doing, two days in a row, I feel like i might be stuck for things to say. Fuck it it’s my blog I’ll just talk bollocks! I just can’t seem to really get into any music at the moment, I haven’t heard a song that has really captured my heart, soul or anything for that matter in ages. I can’t remember the last time a band really excited me either.
Don’t really know what to expect from 2010 to be honest, but 2009 was pretty shit so it must be an improvement. Reflecting back on last year in some ways we moved forward alot, but we are still in Cannock so we haven’t come far enough! We have played live on Radio 2 twice, had our songs played on there BBC WM, Beacon, Kerrang and many internet stations too.

Proper wanna sort some kind of holiday out soon was thinking Ibiza to go and proper have it in the summer. If any one knows of someway the band could get out there to play then let us know.

Ok So Ive Slacked Off Big Time – Festive Period 11th January
Ok hows things? i have really slacked off the blog over Christmas. I’m not gonna appologise as I was officially on holiday along with the rest of the lads. So it’s 2010 now and it seems to me that nobody really knows what to do with themselves. Most of the band spent new year in Sheffield which was… well… eventful to say the least.
Ironically we ended up doing the full monty in Sheffield, where the film is actually set. None of this was planned, it just happened and none of us recall any of it!
We haven’t done anything over Christmas and new year to do with the band. This week we are getting back into practice and meeting some management company or something, so we will see what that brings.
Tom has been bulcking up over christmas. For the better would you agree?

Ive Been Slacking I Know – 23rd December
So Christmas is nearly upon us and I have slacked off the blog to be fair. The gig at the Hang Up in Walsall went well thanks to Dean the promoter for getting us on. Enjoyed the first band and thought they were really tight considering it was there first gig! Nations Waiting were good as always, we got a good response and the place was rammed so all in all, a good night!

Good day to all of you I’m feeling pretty bright and breezy for a change today. I just haven’t been sleeping properly for some reason, which had something to do with the neighbors baby screaming all fucking night! Obviously didn’t wake those deaf clowns up!
Off to practice tonight to learn the new song Davo has penned (Faker), so I’m looking forward to that. In other news my car door froze shut this morning and i had to scrape my car off with an Ocean Colour Scene Cd. It was either that Be Here now by Oasis, Rubber Soul by The Beatles or Is This It by The Strokes, so i think it was a pretty good choice wouldn’t you agree?
